A perimeter boundary is an invisible energetic field a person can envision completely surrounding the body. This could be an opportunity to call on a higher power, God, the saints or any other energetic presence you have found.
Every morning as part of my meditation I ask God to surround me and allow only the highest frequency of love to reach me. In this prayer the highest frequency of love is equivalent to unconditional love – love that has no expectations of me and will just be there no matter what. I have found over years of doing this that my God image shifts from time to time. At present, it is a protective femenine presence with a bright, gentle face and a body like curls of clouds and light – in Catholic terms the Holy Spirit perhaps?
The surrender of this responsibility, request for help with something that is hard for me, and trust that it will be taken care of are all huge areas for personal growth and topics for meditation. For me this practice has decreased my eczema. My skin no longer has to act as the barrier keeping away anything I don’t wish to ingest. The area around me is cleaner before my skin even starts to process things. I still have 3 kids so this barrier likely does absolutely nothing for germs, their conditional love or generally being touched and harangued when I wish not to be.
I can’t help but think though, in these days of social distancing, that a healthy energetic boundary does keep energies that would make it harder to fight a virus even further away. Sometimes I think we are not aware enough of how what we put out there in expectations comes back to us.
For meditation today:
- Find a comfortable position.
- Notice your breath. Begin to lengthen the exhales and inhales, engaging the diaphragm as previously taught.
- Complete a body scan to notice where your body ends and the space around you begins.
- Send a petition out to the universe, your higher power or the power of love, asking it to surround you and build a barrier so that only the highest frequency love can reach you.
- Sit in this space exploring how this boundary feels and looks. Does it or the space it protects have a particular color or look about it? Do you have an image of a personified higher power or some other spiritual entity creating it? How does it make your body feel?
